Cavendish University Uganda required a robust Library Management System that could help its Library team better organize and manage their large volume of books across multiple libraries. The system would have to be highly reliable to support a large user community
Solution
eRyte Limited deployed the most advanced and cost-effective open source automation solution on the market, KOHA Integrated Library System (ILS).
Koha is a web-based ILS, with a SQL database back end with cataloging data stored in MARC and accessible via Z39.50 or SRU. The user interface is very configurable and adaptable and has been translated into many languages. Koha has most of the features that would be expected in an ILS, including:
- Various Web 2.0 facilities like tagging, comment, Social sharing, and RSS feeds
- Union catalog facility
- Customizable search
- Online Circulation
- Bar code printing
eRyte Limited did extensive customization of the OPAC as well as staff client to reflect the School’s brand.
